This sad week....

So, last week I wanted to post on the first time we left Colten overnight...Because we did. We left Colt overnight for the first time ever! How exciting huh? But, before I could sit down to write about those emotions, we got a phone call that my cousin had passed away...So, here is how this past week played out for us...

Last Wednesday:
My sister and brother-in-law called to see if we wanted to head down to Dallas with them for my BIL to buy a truck. We decided since we were going to try to squeeze so much into two days (shopping, truck buying, transmission buying, shopping, shopping, and shopping) that we would be better to leave the big babies at home. Though a little hesitant at first, I was actually okay with leaving little man at home with his Mimi. We left about 2:00 and got to Dallas at 6:00. After much debate on the buying of the truck, the BIL decided to wait before purchasing.

Last Thursday:
It was decided to buy the truck. They boys got the truck and left to go purchase a transmission for a car that Chase is helping his dad rebuild and the girls left to go shopping!! After IKEA, Harry Hines Blvd, and the outlet mall, we headed home around 8:00. We got home after midnight and I stayed at Mindie and Trav's since Colt was sound asleep when we got there.

Last Friday:
Woke up and came home early. I had a lot to do around the house, as well as some of my transcription work. Spent the morning doing all that. Around 1:30, I got a call from Mindie asking if I had talked to my cousin, Gabe. Gabe and I talk often, but I had not talked to him in a few days. At that point, I could tell that Mindie was crying. She told me that Coeby (our cousin and Gabe's brother) had passed away that morning. After talking more to her, a phone call to Gabe, and talking with my mom, I decided that I would head to Arkansas with my mom that afternoon. We left about 2:30, and I left Little Man at home with Chase. It was so hard to leave him again!

Last Saturday:
Spent the morning in Arkansas and then left to come home on Saturday afternoon. So glad to be home!!! Well glad, except for the fact that Chase had not picked up ANYTHING since I had left the day before. Oh well, I was home, even if it was a mess!

Sunday:
We slept in and cleaned up around the house. Sunday night we had John and Jana over for dinner. It was a really chill great night!

Monday:
I had to babysit for the Trevino boys on Monday, then planned to run some errands Monday afternoon. Gabe texted on Monday morning and really wanted me to come back to Arkansas on Monday, instead of waiting until Tuesday afternoon like I had originally planned. So, we got home from babysitting around 12:45, packed up Colt and I's things, then left again around 2:00 to head back to Arkansas. Spent the evening with family in Arkansas.

Tuesday:
In Arkansas. Mindie, Trav, and the kids came Tuesday afternoon, Dad, Tiff, and Chase came Tuesday night. Tuesday evening they had the viewing/visitation at the funeral home. It was really hard. We spent the night at a hotel Tuesday night.

Wednesday:
Got up early to get ready for the funeral. Colten fell in the hotel bathroom and busted his head on the cabinet. He got a big goose egg and a cut. It wasn't good. :( Left the hotel to head to the funeral. I HATE FUNERALS! Then went back to my Aunt and Uncle's house. Spent the afternoon there, then left to come home. My whole body and mind shut down by 10:00 and I crashed!

Thursday:
Well, that's today. I'm so exhausted. I can't believe everything that has happened in the past week. It seems like time has passed so slowly. I can't believe that it was only a week ago we were in Dallas. It seems like weeks.

So, that's been my week. We are leaving again for vacation next week. I'm looking forward to getting away to the cooler weather and less stress.

I know one thing is for sure, I am so thankful that this sad week is over!
