A Year...

I have put off writing a new post for over a year now.  I got out of the habit of blogging a year ago for a few reasons, then it was such an eventful year, I knew it would take a LONG time to catch up.  So, I just kept putting it off.  

Now, here I am, a year later.  Like I said, so much has happened in the past year.  I wish that I had been blogging to document it all.  I guess in my mind, my first post back would have to document it, thus be exceedingly long.  However, I decided this morning, that I am just going to start fresh.  I want to be able to blog again and not have the idea of the GIANT post that will take three hours to write, hanging over my head.  

That being said, here is a very brief run-down of what 2012 held for our family...

January--John and Janna pregnant, We got pregnant (HUGE SURPRISE!), John and Janna miscarried, We miscarried.

February--Myra unexpectedly passed away, Colten had his first haricut

March--Bought 8 acres in Broken Arrow, Colten turned 2

April--Grandma Evelyn unexpectedly passed away, Grandpa Junior passed away after battling with cancer, We put our house on the market, Chase's 28th birthday

May--My 28th birthday, We are pregnant again!!!

June--Got an offer on our house, Chase and I left Colten to travel to Iowa for Jenna's wedding for a week, Colten is totally potty trained!

July--Let the packing begin!  Moved into mom and dad's house for the 4 months it was supposed to take to build our house.

August--Closed on our Kiefer house, Clearing fences and dirt work began on our new house, Family vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama, Found out we were having another baby boy and Chase felt him kick for the first time!

September--Colten started school again, Took Colt to his first football game (TU) and Disney on Ice...He LOVED both.

October--Tiffanie moved to Nashville permanently, Had a great Halloween (Colt was an alligator, my belly was an 8 ball, and Chase was a pool table), Concrete was finally poured on our house.

November--Framing began, Janna and Evie had a baby shower for Owen Henry, Chase did a lot of hunting

December--Work on house continued, Had wonderful Christmas celebrations with the family, Mindie and Brianne had a surprise baby shower for Owen.

January--Baby Owen arrives on January 10, Had his newborn pictures, and lots of visitors!  Stayed in because we didn't want to catch the flu!  Construction continues on the house with bricking and sheet rocking.

February--Trim work on the house has begun, we have had a meeting to finalize the mortgate, etc., and are about 30-45 days out from finish!

That has been our year!  I am sure I missed a lot, and there is so much I want to go back and elaborate on, and maybe someday I will.  But for now, it is a relief just to get that much written down!  Hopefully, the weight is lifted, and I can go back to my casual blogging!  :)
