Last week, my super husband surprised me with tickets to Rascal Flatts. We had a great time on our date and although we missed him, we know Colt had TONS of fun with Grammie and Papa!!
Grandpa isn't doing too well. The hospice nurse gave him three days, and that was three days ago. So, he's definitely near the end. It makes me sad that Colten is going to lose his great grandpa, but it makes me even more sad to know that he won't remember him. We went over there on Tuesday and I was able to sit Colten on the bed next to grandpa for a little bit. Grandpa muttered and talked to him (although he is too weak to talk and you can't understand him). But, before we got up, I heard my grandpa say, "My sweet boy, I love you." It was so sad, I'm crying as I type... At least we are blessed with the knowledge that we will be with him again someday and Colten will definitely know him then!
After leaving grandma and grandpa's house, Mindie and I went to Arkansas to see Aunt Barbara and Uncle Don. We had been planning this trip for a few weeks. Mom was supposed to go with us, but didn't because she felt like she needed to be with my dad. Although we were anxious about going, we really enjoyed it and know that Aunt Barb and Uncle Don were so excited we were there! We had such a great night with them and were able to do some antique shopping where I picked up these ADORAOBLE salt and pepper shakers, which have now taken up residence on my stove:
Then we went to this fun outlet type store called Oops! Where I found this fun greenery arrangment that is already found a home on my end table!
Although it's been a rough, busy couple weeks, we are still pressing on!
"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" -Philippians 3:14
