Half and Half

Today was what should have been a typical Monday in our house. We had no plans this morning (our usual playdate/babysitting of the Trevino boys was rescheduled), and little man had his 15-month well-child check this afternoon.

This morning went great! Little man slept late, again! I am so thankful that he is such a good sleeper! After he got up this morning, we spent our morning playing inside and outside before he went down for his morning nap. After his nap, we went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A. We had a great lunch date, and he got to play in the play area, which he loves. He acted just fine all morning long!

His appointment with Dr. Raley started off okay. He had a low-grade temperature, but it was nothing major. Once Dr. R came in, Colt was still doing fine (much better than last time when Little Man started crying as soon as Dr. R walked in the door). Dr. R checked him all out and said that everything looked good. I was slightly concerned that his ear infection might not have cleared up from a few weeks ago, but Dr. R said that his ears looked great. However, his throat was red. They ran a strep test, which came back negative, but it all went downhill from there.

Because the strep test was negative, Dr. R said it was okay to go ahead with his immunizations. Nurse J gave him his shots. He screamed and cried a lot! I went to pick him up and his leg was bleeding from the shots. Poor baby!! It seemed like from that point on throughout the day, he had the okay to feel bad.

I swear he was fine before the appointment, I didn't even know he had a temperature! And then, after the doctor's appointment, he was whiny and needy and just didn't feel good. We put him to bed tonight and he was still a little warm, and just not himself! :(

Here's to hoping tomorrow is a better day, and my little man feels good all day long!
