Yesterday was a busy day. I think I was on the go so much that it may have been the first day Colt wasn't swimming laps in my belly--I'm sure he was sleeping soundly as I was frantically running from one event to the next. The day started with Braxton's shower at my house. Seeing Shauna open all the little boy gifts makes me really anxious for Colt's arrival. I wish it were now, actually, I wish it were yesterday and today I would be sitting here with a tiny baby in my arms, staring down at a wonderful, beautiful gift from God. Anyway, after Brax's shower, I was supposed to make an appearance at Jon and Sarah's shower for Silas; however, I did not have time and was too tired. I feel bad that I didn't get to go, but I heard it was a wonderful shower and they are beyond excited that they will be bringing their baby home in less than 2 months! Because I skipped that shower, I had a few minutes just to sit, before having to run across town to Kara's bridal shower. Melissa threw it and it was beautiful. I wish there had been more people there to support Kara, but we really had a great time. After leaving, I had to go get Kara a gift for her bachelorette party last night. I came home, changed, and left again for that. It was a little frustrating because the list of people coming to the bachelorette party dwindled from 20 to 10 to 6. We still had a great time, although just about everyone, except Kara and her friend Erin, was heading home before midnight--Such is the life of a pregnant woman! Today I'm tired, and glad yesterday is done, but I really enjoyed myself and glad I'm surrounded by good friends whom I can spend time with.
So now I'm sitting outside, drinking some warm lemony, limey tea...LOVING this autumn weather. It's absolutely perfect with a crisp in the air, cloudy skies and a slight breeze; however, I am totally and completely missing the trees. I love our new house...there are only a few things I would change about it but one of the major ones is that it has no trees. I mean it has a few tiny twigs that stick up from the ground, but no real trees--the kind you can take a nap in the shade under and whose leaves all come crashing down at this time of year. Chase does not miss trees, because for him, trees equal leaves and leaves equal a pain in the butt for yardwork. I just want to make sure by the time Colt is old enough, we have trees...Trees to climb, trees for a fort, trees to rake the leaves and then jump in the pile. Autumn makes me miss trees.
