I realize my baby is only 6 1/2 weeks old and these thoughts may be a little premature, but it's just been on my mind lately.
So, I've always thought I would like to home school my kids. After teaching in the public schools, the thought has become more prominent in my mind. I sincerely think that it's something that has both positives and negatives and the pros and cons would have to be weighed heavily before a final decision is made. (Besides I have 5 years to weigh the pros and cons!) A lot of homeschooling factors depend on how it's done and what the parent chooses to do with it. Kids can become antisocial weirdos or I think they can thrive and blossom into well adjusted young people. It's all in how the idea of homeschooling is addressed and handled.
Anyway, after attending a large public school and teaching at a medium to large public school it makes me positive I DO NOT want my children in either of those. So, that leaves a small school, private school, or home school. Small school will depend on where we live and private school depends on whether or not we can afford it. Home school is the one that I keep coming back to.
I know Chase and I will keep thinking about it and discussing it for the next 5 years, but if Colt was going to school today, his school would be at home with me!
