Dropped a Few Points..

So, I dropped a few points on the mommy scale this week. Notice that says a few points, not a few pounds (I wish!) Anyway, I noticed last week that little man was drooling quite a bit and that his poo was runny and stinky! I crossed my fingers that he was not getting sick, but when it cleared up, I forgot about it!

Yesterday, he was laying on the changing table "talking" to me while I changed him and I looked in his mouth and noticed a new little white speck. When I pried open his jaws and held his tongue back (man, that sounds more painful than it actually was...I hope) I noticed a new tooth! But, not just the gums turned white, tooth about to break through the surface new tooth, a fully through, just as tall as his other teeth new tooth! I had completely missed it until now!

Now, if Colt was my 5th baby, or even just my 2nd baby, missing his 7th tooth coming it would not be a big deal. But, as a mother of just one child, shouldn't I have seen it, known it was coming, caudled him, rocked him when he cried from the pain, applied Oragel and ice packs, massaged his gums, celebrated when it poked through the surface, daily measured its growth, and.....What? Do people actually do that???

Oh, wait...Yeah...maybe I'm not so bad of a mother after all...

PS- I did notice, when I used the jaws of life to look at this shiny new one, that the one opposite of this one is about to break through as well. Maybe I'll keep an eye on it...

  1. You are cracking me up! Be glad it is the 7th one you missed and not the 1st. :D

Colt will never know you neglected the presentation of his 7th tooth. On 2nd thought, it is kind of sad that you missed it. Maybe you should be punished! Mwah ha ha.
