I got to the park before my mom or sisters and was just going to sit in the car and wait. While I was waiting, I saw a mom (about my age) with her little girl (about Colt's age) on the swings. I looked around to see if they were with anyone and didn't see anyone else. Soon, they got off the swing, and went and sat on a blanket and began their picnic, just the two of them! At first, I thought it was a little strange and that I would never do that. I'm not really good at doing stuff by myself. I've never been one to go to a restaurant and eat alone or anything like that. But, while I was watching, I started thinking, "Why wouldn't I do that?" The mom and little girl had fun interacting on their blanket. She was talking to her, helping her eat, and playing with her, all while enjoying the beautiful weather. So, what that they were there alone, they had each other. How fun!!!

But, at that point, I knew that I could (and wanted to) do it alone too! Because, I wouldn't be alone, I have my little man. So, thank you mom, who took your little girl to the park by yourself for a picnic. You've inspired me to do the same and I see many park dates and picnics in our future this spring!!

PS-Today is the last day of hunting season! YEAH!! I FINALLY get my husband back!!!
Glad she empowered you. :) Sometimes alone is all you have. No point in missing all of the fabulous moments with your baby just because it is the 2 of you. L'il C and I had a lot of fun for several years together. We had "dates" with each other. Try planning one on purpose with just the 2 of you. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having fun in the snow...since it is no longer that perfect weather. Ha ha.
