1 1/2 Years Old!

Dear Little Man,
Today you are 18 months old. It hurts my heart a little to say that, it hurts my heart a little more to actually think about it. You have been in our lives for a year and a half now. Sometimes it feels like it has been forever, and sometimes it feels like just a few minutes. Though I honestly cannot believe how quickly time has passed.

You are now into everything. Even things that you are not supposed to be into, you're into. I think you have been into every drawer and cabinet in our house at least once. You are very curious and want to know what everything is. Because of this, it seems like there is at least one thing broken every day at our house. Right now your favorite drawer is mommies make-up drawer. You love to play with my make-up and act like you are putting it on. Daddy isn't too keen on you playing make-up, but mommy thinks it's silly.

You love to run, though when you are being silly you will crawl. You also really love to "go ride" in daddy's golf cart. You have also found the mower as well, and realized that you can ride on it too! Lately you have started freaking out a little bit when we try to buckle you in your carseat, but you usually calm down pretty quickly. I really hope that this is not something you are going to start. You have always loved going in the car and mommy really wants you to continue to do so.

You still love your Cici and talk about her all the time. You love to point to pictures of her and dada and point them out. You will point at mama when you're asked, but you don't automatically do it like you do with your dad and Claire. Besides Claire, your best friend right now is Noah. You call him No-aH and he calls you Coco. You two play together so well, even though he is almost a whole year older than you.

The biggest change in your life right now is the fact that we enrolled you in Mother's Day out. Mommy and Daddy didn't agree on you going, but in the end, mommy won and we enrolled you to go one day a week. I do have to admit that I cried a little when I spoke to the director about getting you enrolled. I know it is the best thing for you, but it made me sad to realize that my little man was growing up so quickly. Last Thursday was your first day. You cried when we dropped you off and picked you up, but Ms. Jill said you did great the rest of the day. We think it will be good for you to be around someone other than mommy all day. Mommy missed you on Thursday, but it was nice to be able to run my errands and not have to continue to get you in and out of the car. I think you will really like school after you get used to it.

Today we got you two presents for your 1/2 birthday. You got a new star light for your bedroom and a train and train track for your train table. At first you thought it was kinda cool...

Then, You were interested in destroying the track....

And then that was about it (Notice you are off with your other toys)...

It's okay though, I'm sure you'll love it before too long. You love playing with your trucks on your train table, and I'm sure your train and train tracks will be the same.

Baby boy, we love you so, so, so much. It grows every day with every ornery smile you give. You are such a blessing in our lives and I cannot imagine life without you. I am such a lucky mommy to get to have you as my baby!! I love you to the moon and back and back again!!! Happy 1 1/2 birthday buddy!!!
